the key ingredients that the Kentucky Wildcats are going to have to overcome during the upcoming tournament season are pretty obvious if you have watched the Cats play at all this year;
5. Timely free throw shooting- although 68% is not that bad as a team, the timely free throw shooting is lacking. UK has allowed many teams to stay in the game due to their lack of hitting free throws in the final minutes of the game.
4. Coaching- yes I am going to say something negative about the "Bluegrass King" Coach Calipari. He needs to use his timeouts better for one, I have watched UK squander multiple double digit leads while Coach Cal lets his team "work throught it". As we saw in South Carolina you can't do that with a young freshman laden team. Also he needs to have the team ready for each and every game the rest of the year and not let the Cats to take anything for granted. Too mant time this year the Cats have limped into the game or taken off to a big lead just to sit back and watch as the opposition storms back.
3. Turnovers- I know that many of the other UK fans out there get as frustrated as I do with the out of control turnovers that the Cats make during a game.
2. Three Point Shooting- We all knew going into the season that the Cats were not going to be good at shooting from the 3 point line, but all we need to be is competant from the arc to make a huge difference in the outcome of a game. The Cats cannot affors to go 3-12 or worse but 4-11 would be adequate. That could be a 5 point turn around and maybe a 6 point difference if the Cats get an And One and can make a timely free throw! (#5)
1. 100%- I am not just talking about defense here, but also on offense, on the bench (yes on the bench the players need to be paying attention to the coaches and the game so they are ready when they enter the game!) and probably just as important is during practice. Now the last one I don't know for a fact that the Cats are not practicing hard or paying attention during practice, but as the saying goes the proof is in the pudding! The Cats have not yet played a game at 100% for an entire game so I can't imagine how they are taking everything in during practice.

With all this being said I still think the Cats will be playing in the Final Four this year! Go Cats!
